Or, My trip to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival August 8- August 19, 2002!

Well, I’m back from Scotland. Wow. Quite an adventurous, mind-expanding, emotional journey. I feel like I was living in a bubble, and the bubble was just popped- suddenly I’m aware of a much larger world out there. There are different ways of looking at things, including myself, that I hadn’t even considered before. I’d never really been outside the US, and experienced what other people outside perceive of the US. The pictures of foreign lands on my TV screen just formed into flesh and blood, stone and steel.

This was all the result of being invited to sign up for a playwriting class which consisited of a field trip to the Ediniburgh Fringe Festival, touted as the largest arts festival in the world! Many thanks go to my friends iisaw and Carol for inviting me and many, many thanks to my Mom, without whom I could not have afforded to go. She believes that it's a good, mind-expanding experience for a young person to get out and see the world, and helped me go- and I sure agree! :)
